AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Rough bar conditions expected. Seas 6 to 12 ft at 11
seconds and south winds 20 to 25 kt with gusts up to 30 kt
expected. Brief gale force wind gusts up to 35 kt are possible
for a 1 to 2 hour period with a frontal passage that is set to
occur sometime between 6-11 AM PDT Wednesday. Ebb tide cycles
may lead to locally higher seas.

* WHERE...In the Main Channel of the Columbia River Bar.

* WHEN...Until 5 PM PDT this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Conditions will be hazardous to small craft,
especially when operating near to, or attempting to cross, the
Columbia River Bar.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Ebb current of 5.41 kt at 500 AM Wednesday.
Seas 5 to 6 ft. Ebb current of 4.74 kt at 516 PM Wednesday. Seas
6 to 7 ft. Strong ebb current of 5.68 kt at 537 AM Thursday.
Seas 9 ft.

A Small Craft Advisory means that wave conditions are expected to
be hazardous to small craft in the vicinity of the Columbia River
Bar. Mariners are advised to obtain the latest bar conditions
from the United States Coast Guard before attempting to cross the
bar.
