* Flood Warning continues for the San Diego River at Fashion Valley

* at 9 PM Friday the river stage was 11.99 feet

* flood stage is 11.3 feet

* the river will remain above flood stage tonight. It is forecast to fall
below flood Saturday morning.

* Impacts:

Low water crossings over the river in Mission Valley are closed and under water.

Roads impacted include... Fashion Valley Road, Avenida del Rio, Camino del este,
Camino de la reina, and mission Center Road.

Water flows into Fashion Valley parking lot. Riverwalk Golf course
will be impacted.

High Surf Warning
Issued: 5:20 PM PST Jan. 20, 2017 – National Weather Service

... High surf warning remains in effect until 10 PM PST Tuesday...
... Beach hazards statement remains in effect until 8 PM PST this
evening...

* surf... surf increasing to 8 to 12 ft with sets to 16 feet
tonight through Saturday. Surf subsiding Sunday through
Tuesday to 6 to 9 ft with sets to 12 ft. Surf will likely
diminish below high surf thresholds by Wednesday.

* Timing for beach lightning... through early evening.

* Tides... highest tide will be 4.6 ft at 435 am Saturday... 4.8
ft at 520 am Sunday... 5.1 ft at 559 am Monday... and 5.4 ft at
634 am Tuesday.

* Impacts... coastal flooding and beach erosion. Damage to coastal
structures such as piers. Strong rip currents and dangerous
swimming conditions. Large waves can wash people off jetties and
rocks. Cloud-to-water and cloud-to-ground lightning possible.

* Reports... 8 foot waves were reported at Huntington Beach... San
Clemente pier and Solana Beach at 4 PM.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A high surf warning indicates that dangerous... battering wave
will pound the shoreline. This will result in very dangerous
swimming conditions... and deadly rip currents.

A beach hazards statement for beach lightning means that there is
the potential for cloud to ground or cloud to water lightning
strikes which could result in injury or death. Move indoors until
the storm passes and stay away from metal objects.
