* At 8:00 am Wednesday the stage was 15.3 feet and falling.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring.
* Forecast... fall below flood stage this evening.
* Impact... at 15.0 feet, water affects several sections of south
Concord street south of River Drive in Davenport and is at the
foundations of several homes on Enchanted Island. Water also
affects industries along the river at the south end of Davenport.

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Thursday morning...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Illinois, Iowa, and northeast Missouri, including
the following areas, in Illinois, Hancock, Henderson, Henry
IL, McDonough, Mercer, Rock Island, and Warren. In Iowa, Des
Moines, Henry IA, Jefferson, Keokuk, Lee, Louisa, Muscatine,
Scott, Van Buren, and Washington. In northeast Missouri, Clark
and Scotland.

* Through Thursday morning

* storms will be capable of high rainfall rates due to high
moisture levels in the atmosphere.

* The area of greatest risk is south of a line from Sigourney,
Iowa to Monmouth, Illinois. Here storms may move over the same
areas later tonight and produce 1 to 3 inches of rain in a
short time period.

A Flash Flood Watch means that flash flooding is possible.
Monitor forecasts and take action if flash flood warnings are
issued or flash flooding develops.

northwestern Des Moines... Louisa... southwestern Cedar... southern
Johnson... eastern Washington and Muscatine counties until 500 PM
CDT...

At 402 PM CDT, radar indicated strong thunderstorms were located
along a line extending from near Kalona to near Riverside to near
Cotter to Rome. Movement was northeast at 30 mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph and pea size hail are possible with these
storms.

Locations impacted include...
Iowa City, Muscatine, Mount Pleasant, Washington, Tipton, West
Branch, Wapello, Columbus Junction, Coralville, West Liberty, Wilton,
Kalona, Mediapolis, Lone Tree, Winfield, University Heights,
Riverside, Fruitland, Wayland and Morning Sun.

This includes Interstate 80 in Iowa between mile markers 245 and 269.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may
cause localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
