southeastern Val Verde County in south central Texas...

* until 430 PM CDT

* at 313 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 12 miles southeast
of Carta Valley, or 21 miles southeast of Loma Alta, moving east at
5 mph.

Hazard... 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

Source... radar indicated.

Impact... hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
           to roofs, siding, and trees.

The National Weather Service in Austin San Antonio has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
northwestern Kinney County in south central Texas...
southern Edwards County in south central Texas...
east central Val Verde County in south central Texas...
northern Real County in south central Texas...

* until 700 PM CDT

* at 323 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a pair of nearly stationary
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Radar
estimate one to two inches has already fallen with rainfally rates
of two to four inches per hour being produced by these storms.
Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Vance, Carta Valley, prade ranch and Kickapoo cavern State Park.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.
