Heat Advisory
Issued: 3:24 AM CDT Jul. 20, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Heat advisory in effect until 8 PM CDT Friday...

The National Weather Service in Tulsa has issued a heat advisory,
which is in effect until 8 PM CDT Friday.

* Temperature... high temperatures in the mid to upper 90s will
continue each afternoon through at least Friday across far
eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. The temperatures,
combined with the high humidity, will create dangerous heat
index values around 105 degrees. Overnight temperatures will
provide little relief from the heat, especially in the more
urban areas.

* Impacts... the combination of hot temperatures and high
humidity will combine to create a dangerous situation in which
heat illnesses are possible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water.
