Areal Flood Watch
Issued: 10:43 AM EST Feb. 25, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Flood Watch remains in effect through Sunday evening...

The Flood Watch continues for

* a portion of central New York, including the following areas,
northern Oneida and southern Oneida.

* Through Sunday evening

* a cold front will bring a quick shot of moderate to heavy
rainfall today. Ongoing runoff from melting snow will combine
with the anticipated rainfall to increase levels on river and
streams around the County. Minor flooding will be possible
from today through Sunday.

* Smaller streams and creeks will be most at risk for high flows
and potential flooding, but there is also a chance for some
flooding along larger creeks such as Fish Creek, Oneida creek,
Oriskany creek, Sauquoit creek and the Black River among
others.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
