Special Statement
Issued: 3:09 PM PDT Jul. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Strong thunderstorms with gusty outflow and locally heavy rain
likely into the evening...

Scattered thunderstorms will continue developing and lifting north
across the western Nevada basin and range and parts of Mineral and
southern Lyon counties late this afternoon into the evening.

The strongest storms may produce wind gusts in excess of 50 mph
along with locally heavy rain. Outside of the heavy rain cores
dry lightning is likely which could spark new fires, driven by the
gusty outflow winds.

Locally heavy rain may cause areas of ponding water or minor
flooding and rock slides in steep terrain.
