break... and strong currents making swimming dangerous.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Heed all advice given by ocean safety officials and exercise
caution. Be prepared for water splashing onto coastal roads along
the east facing shores.

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a Wind
Advisory... which is in effect until 6 PM HST this evening. The
High Wind Warning has been cancelled.

* Winds... northeast trades 25 to 35 mph with localized gusts to
50 mph.

The strongest winds are expected over and downwind of the
mountains... as well as in areas where the winds are best
channeled by the terrain.

* Timing... through 6 PM this evening.

* Impacts... strong winds will make driving hazardous... especially
in high profile vehicles. Small or weakened tree branches may be
knocked down... and unsecured items may be blown around by the
strong winds.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Residents should bring in or tie down any loose outdoor items.

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of at least 30 mph...
or gusts of at least 50 mph... are expected. Motorists should use
extra caution.

A Small Craft Advisory means that wind speeds of 25 to 33 knots
and/or seas 10 feet or greater are expected to produce conditions
hazardous to small craft. Inexperienced mariners... especially
those operating smaller vessels... should avoid navigating in
these conditions.
