Flood Warning

... Flood Warning extended until Thursday evening... the Flood Warning
continues for
the Choctawhatchee River at Geneva (sr 52).
* From this afternoon, or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 7:00 am Monday the stage was 19.6 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 23.0 feet.
* Forecast: rise above flood stage by late this afternoon and
continue to rise to near 25.5 feet by tomorrow evening. The river
will fall below flood stage by Thursday early afternoon.
* Impact: at 25.0 feet: homes along east Westville Avenue will begin
to flood. Fowler park will start to flood.

The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued a Wind
Advisory... which is in effect until 4 PM EST /3 PM CST/ this
afternoon.

* Winds... west northwest 25 to 30 mph with occasional gusts to 35
mph through mid afternoon.

* Impacts... minor damage to trees, power lines, and property are
possible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.





Small Craft Advisory
Issued: 9:25 AM CST Jan. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Small Craft Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM CST this
evening...

* winds... northwest 20 to 25 knots this morning subsiding to
around 20 knots this afternoon and then 15 to 20 knots
tonight.

* Waves... rough becoming choppy.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Small Craft Advisory means that wind speeds or frequent gusts
of 20 to 33 knots and/or seas of 7 feet or higher are expected to
produce hazardous wave conditions to small craft. Inexperienced
mariners... especially those operating smaller vessels should
avoid navigating in these conditions.

We will be conducting two storm surveys today (mon. 1/23/2017).
The first will survey damage through Thomas, Brooks, Cook, and
Berrien counties in Georgia. The second will survey damage through
Dougherty, Worth, and possibly Turner counties in Georgia.
Additional surveys are expected tomorrow (tue. 1/24/2017), but
formal plans have not been finalized at this time.
