The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued a

* special marine warning for...
coastal waters from Okaloosa-Walton County line to Mexico Beach out
20 nm...
waters from Okaloosa-Walton County line to Mexico Beach from 20 to
60 nm...

* until 415 am CDT.

* At 241 am CDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing
waterspouts were located along a line extending from near Mary
Esther to 24 nm south of Oriskany reef to 71 nm south of Okaloosa
deep water reef, moving northeast at 40 knots.

Hazard... waterspouts and wind gusts to 40 knots.

Source... radar indicated.

Impact... expect wind gusts in excess of 34 knots well ahead of
           this line of storms... suddenly higher waves... frequent
           lightning... and heavy downpours. Make sure all on board
           are wearing life jackets.

* Locations impacted include...
Panama City Beach, Laguna Beach and Santa Rosa Beach.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Move to safe Harbor until hazardous weather passes.

Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.

The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued a Gale
Warning, which is in effect from 10 am EDT /9 am CDT/ this
morning to 10 PM EDT /9 PM CDT/ this evening. A Small Craft
Advisory has also been issued. This Small Craft Advisory is in
effect from 10 PM EDT /9 PM CDT/ this evening to 11 PM EDT /10 PM
CDT/ Saturday.

* Winds... south 25 to 30 knots. Turning west Friday morning and
increasing to 30 knots. Frequent gusts up to 40 knots are
expected.


* Waves/seas... 8 to 12 feet with occasional seas up to 15 feet.
Highest Friday afternoon and evening.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Small Craft Advisory means that wind speeds of 20 to 33 knots
are expected to produce hazardous wave conditions to small craft.
Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller
vessels should avoid navigating in these conditions.

A Gale Warning means winds of 34 to 47 knots are imminent or
occurring. Operating a vessel in gale conditions requires
experience and properly equipped vessels. It is highly
recommended that mariners without the proper experience seek safe
Harbor prior to the onset of gale conditions.
