The flood threat has shifted slightly to the south Tuesday with flood watches in effect for most of Virginia, parts of Maryland and North Carolina. Where The Severe Threat Is Increasing

A strong summer cold front will bring a chance for scattered severe thunderstorms late Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday night. Damaging winds and large hail will be the main threats, although isolated tornadoes cannot be ruled out. Wind gusts could exceed 75 mph across much of Nebraska including places like North Platte and Kearney. Localized heavy rain could also lead to flooding, so please have a way to get warnings, especially at night.
