This historic storm is spreading destructive ice and heavy snow over 34 states through Monday including the South, Midwest and Northeast. Here is the very latest forecast.
Winter Storm Fern is here and is set to dump heavy snow and ice across the Northeast. Snow will change to sleet and maybe freezing rain Sunday afternoon along the Interstate 95 corridor from Washington, D.C., and Baltimore up to Philadelphia and even New York City. However, significant snowfall is still expected in these major cities despite the chance of ice. The highest snow totals will likely be across New England in places like Boston, Providence and Hartford. Please stay home and avoid travel today. If you must travel, make sure you have a winter emergency kit in your car. Watch this video for your hour-by-hour forecast and the latest snow and ice totals.
Mississippi is seeing some of the largest ice totals from Winter Storm Fern, and it is having an impact on the state’s roads. Watch this video to see what happened to several semi trucks that lost control, and check out how the ice has piled up on trees and power lines.
