With snow falling from Winter Storm Gianna, the Charlotte Fire Department made a dramatic rescue on Saturday. A pickup truck had run off a snowy road and landed in a frigid retention pond. The driver spent about 45 minutes standing on the bed of his truck until the rescue team got him into an inflatable raft. Other than cold, wet feet, the driver was not harmed.
