Pawhuska, OK (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: Similar to a photo that I posted in September of an old barn in Northeastern Oklahoma. The photo is composed of two shots to capture the broad light range and to avoid blowing out the sunset while capturing detail on the face of the barn. Shots were at F11, 1/15 and 1/125. An 11 mm lens at F11 allowed the foreground and background to be in focus. This photo won Best of Nikonians 2011 for their HDR category.

Look, look! The sunflowers nearest the old barn appear to be holding up its overhang! These are the photos we cherish and remember -- the ones that draw us to them and help us see all that God created and be held still in their presence, knowing the scene and the photographer are His creations! God bless you, Mike!

About mbryan777

Hello. My name is Mike. I moved from a very large city in California to a small city in northeastern Oklahoma, USA. I am enjoying the slower lifestyle in Oklahoma and taking pictures of flowers, sunsets, sunrises, clouds, storms insects and hills. I have an engineering degree, but I minored in Biology so I really enjoy studying nature and how God engineered it. I've always loved photography but digital macro photography and weather photography are my favorites. Slowing down to study the small things, like flowers, has continually reminded me that God gives us many blessings that are simply for our pleasure and He is the designer of beauty.
