what? no Petoskey Stones??? I used to fill my trunk with them to give my car weight in the winter in Petoskey! Left them all on the shore when I left the area to come to CA.

I'm always a sucker for a few metamorphic beauties. I currently leave my huge collection along the shores of lakes and rivers across the country. Provides a good excuse to go visit them.

I love rocks! I have them all over the house from various p laces I
have been, and when friends go places I have not been, I ask them
to bring me back a rock or two from their trip! I have mentally picked
my favorites here and have them in my pocket!:-> And don't they
always look prettier when they are wet? Cool shot, James!

About gardner48197

12/2014: Greetings from Michigan, where we get quite a wide variety of weather changes throughout the four seasons! Originally I found this site, for the weather, and the photos kept drawing my interest! Decided to get my first digital camera in 2010, and have since upgraded to a Nikon P530. Truly an amazing, eye-opening hobby! This is a great community, so many excellent photographers and friends, so little time! I do read and appreciate every comment and email that I receive! I would like to thank everyone who contributes, for all of the great inspiration and feedback! Sometime down the road I would still like to get a DSLR camera, but for now I just I hope to send a small view of life from the Great Lakes State. Home of the University of Michigan Wolverines! Go Blue! -James
