Caption: Everybody gets fed and taken care of at our place before I get my breakfast. Here, my hens peck at apple trimmings. The ones on the left are Araucanas; the tan one is a Buff Orpington, and the white one is a Cornish Rock cross destined for the oven.

Thanks, Cynthia! I love that the Araucanas are all different, no two alike.

Thanks, Genie! The oldest four pullets are giving us 3-4 eggs per day, and the Araucanas should start in at any time now.

Thanks, Sharon! They are in a large pen, covered on top with chicken wire to keep them safe from hawks and raccoons, but yes, within that area they roam freely and scratch up the grass and dirt.
