We encourage moss on the roof and the lawn. The cedar shingles over the living room would not survive a rigorous cleaning - when the moss goes I'll have to re roof.
In fact we saved some of the moss and Setims from the cabin before we burned it.
If that area had been cleared when we first built here I would have sited the house about where the bee hives are now.
It will likely make for stronger hives this year.

This might help in your ongoing battle with roof moss. Never any loss without some gain, as Great Grandma used to say.

And dat's why we call it "Clear-cut".
None of the trees that went down were on my property. The neighbour had come over with a note to tell us he was going to log that line.
What we ended up with was the first sunset in the almost 40 years we have lived here.
