A Beautiful tribute to our Vets. We received our poppies from the VFW yesterday. I can remember as a small child, my dad always had to get the poppy on Veterans Day! Thank you for reposting Debra!

The sentinels of our hopes standing against the sky, so tall
reminders of those who stood and gave it all
Our prayers released upon the wind,

Such a beautiful symbol of remembrance! My grandma would recite "In Flanders Field" each year when she proudly wore her poppy. Such a fitting tribute, Debra, and a glorious image of honor.

Even as a kid, I loved this flower. We had a lone poppy which came up in the garden every year, and I was fascinated with its unique form and beauty.
