Caption: This colorful boulder lays right where it landed, after careening off the mountain side above, along with it's neighboring boulders and shredded trees and other avalanche debris scattered across it's meadow, here above Crater Lake, beneath Red Lake & Stevens Peaks. They wanted to put a ski area here back in the 70's. I kind of like it like this though.

cheers. This boulder has been a favorite ski landmark of mine for decades, and the act of focusing on it here and fussing over it's compositional trivialities and exposures, etc., has made that even richer for me. Thanks for letting me share.
