Interesting perspective on this shot, with all those Georgia pines in it. A shame about the house. After years of drought, February's rains have been a blessing--except in cases like the one you've captured here.

We got close to 10 inches during February here in the Augusta area, Gayle--after less than half an inch in January. I just hope we can get some in April, when all that yellow pollen coats everything and blows in the air. My wife's also a retired teacher; taught 31 years in Georgia and 5 years in South Carolina.

My husband was the interim Satilla Riverkeeper a few years ago, after Gordon Rogers was recruited to be the Flint Riverkeeper, a licensed member of the Waterkeeper Alliance. They still have John, and also, Laura/SunsetSailor on the staff webpage. Clay Montague became the Interim Riverkeeper & Executive Director after Bill Miller stepped down in February 2012. Applications for a new RIVERKEEPER are being accepted until March 15. Please spread the word to interested applicants.

In the thumbnail, it does look like a collage of photos! The composition and the gorgeous reflections of the pine trees and the colorful roof make this an absolutely gorgeous image of the Satilla River flood. I hope the home is built high enough to stay dry on the first floor!
