a flock of turkeys has been frequenting our birdfeeding area for the past several days..this morning's group of birds made their way through the fresh 4" snowfall and "hunkered down" in the 0F degree temps..they are fascinating birds wo watch..so intelligent and ever watchful..so snapping some shots takes a bit of "sneakiness"..since they can the slightest movement and are gone in a flash!

no reflection of me Dorothy..she had no idea I was in the kitchen window snapping her picture..if she did sense me there she, and the others, would've run very quickly away..I had to stay hidden below the window sill..luckily I have a flipout viewer on my Nikon, so I could see her without her seeing me..and focus the shot!..thanks for your comment! :)

About suzi46
suzi46 Living in the mountains of Western Maine on a 15 acre 'gentleman's farm', in a hand hewn log home, has been a wonderful experience these past 6 1/2 years. The photo ops are virtually unlimited what with the surrounding working farms, dozens of lakes, ponds, and brooks, and thousands of acres of forest. Not to mention our own pond and brooks as well as extensive flower gardens, fruit bushes, vines, and trees. The views of Mt Washington and the Presidentials of NH only add to the drama! Not a bad place to be retired..and I am so glad I can share all of this with the wonderful folks on this great site..it has been a wonderful journey and learning experience thus far..and it's only getting better!
