Caption: We have had about 1 inch of rain since Dec. of last year. The clouds build up and rain all around us but not on us. This, believe it or not, is the Gila River. Not much to look at right now.

Liked your photo. We are in the same weather pattern as you here in NW Okla. (Harper County)
The clouds are forming this evening with all the ingredients, lightning and thunder but not one drop of rain. It is really getting bad not hardly a single green plant left, pastures are bare to the dirt. Hope your need for the rain will not be to much longer.

I'm always amazed at the lines and shapes nature produces because of weather, whether good or bad. I like your photos suelynnes, keep up the good work and continue to fight the good fight, I will be praying for you. By the way, I did not rate your photo, not because "someone told me how to rate it" but because I have learned over the years that many people have their own opinions as to how things "need" to be done and have "told" the rest of us that we are "doing it wrong" so I reserve my vote for what I think deserves it. As a full time artist and amature photog, I find it very ammusing that someone should tell others how to think. Personally, I don't care what others think about my work, if they like it, they buy it, if they don't they keep moving on and that's how it should be. My work is an expression of me and what I am feeling at the time not what they are. Over the years my work has been judged by many fine artists and each one is different, sure they have basic guidlines but that in itself is subjective, so keep taking pictures of what ever catches "your" eye and let the votes fall where they may. In the Lords eyes you are His most beautiful work. Faithwalker. ps.to whom ever it may concern, stones and glass houses, just sayin.

People shouldn't be rating photos based on beauty, if they like or if they would hang on their walls. Ratings should be about quality and if the shot conveys the purpose. And this shot does. It is a 10.

A great shot Sue. NOT beautiful, but great drought info photo. I believe your drought is even worse than what we have here in Taos NM. We are bone dry. No water in a creek nearby and none on the ditch runs by us, for about 2 months now. A 10 for you on this one for the knowledge purpose it is serving. Keep up the great work.
Congratulations on the VIP & the AC.

Wow. Good drought shot. I remember one year recently where the cracks in the ground were about 1/2 inch wide and two to three inches deep! -kevin :)

I hated to give the photo a 10, but the image itself is really great, even though the REASON behind the cracked clay dirt and why it's there is so sad. I really feel for you and all my friends over there!

About suelynnes

suelynnes

I have been very ill for a long time and recently had to stop working. I decided to learn photography as a way to keep my brain and hands functioning. Bear, the pic on my icon passed away in Oct.2013. We really loved this big kitty, even as grumpy as he was. Glad to see so many enjoy his picture.
