I've never seen an oldie like this.
But, great, now everyone also sees the hideous color-scheme of the latest-generation New York plates: blue on schoolbus-orange. :þ
If I didn't get my front plate ripped off a coupla years back, I still wouldda had one of the nicer red/white/blue ones, like
