This morning we were hit with an ice storm in northeast Oklahoma. I knew something was wrong when the weather station stopped measuring wind.

I'm glad to hear that it happens with DAVIS PWS too. When the sun come out and melts the ice it will show as rain.

OMG it looks like a space alien popping his head up to take a look around!

(I keep the rain catcher on my PWS covered with a shower cap in winter, just to keep this kind of thing from happening and perhaps damaging the delicate little tipper thingy)

Enjoyed comments by katy99870. It does look like a space alien. Great shot! Meanwhile, your next photo, Flaming Tree in Bartlesvillem Oklahoma, indicated that you just captured a beautiful sunrise on planet, Earth. Must have been freezing out there this morning!

About mbryan777
mbryan777 Hello. My name is Mike. I moved from a very large city in California to a small city in northeastern Oklahoma, USA. I am enjoying the slower lifestyle in Oklahoma and taking pictures of flowers, sunsets, sunrises, clouds, storms insects and hills. I have an engineering degree, but I minored in Biology so I really enjoy studying nature and how God engineered it. I've always loved photography but digital macro photography and weather photography are my favorites. Slowing down to study the small things, like flowers, has continually reminded me that God gives us many blessings that are simply for our pleasure and He is the designer of beauty.
