Sudden heavy rains caused flooding in low lying areas in the Sylva, NC area.

The rain came very fast and very heavy. Winds were strong in the leading edge of the front. Don't know how much rain fell in such a short period but it was a lot. Fortunately, no tornadoes.

Most of the flooded areas have seen the water recede but the creeks/rivers are still up but below flood level.

Everything seems to move from west to east or south to northeast so diverting to a western flow is kinda difficult!

letchworth Retired after nearly 50 years in tourism marketing. Been doing photography since about 8 years old. Paid $7.50 for my first Brownie Hawkeye box camera with flash/ bulbs with money from my Buffalo (NY) Evening News newspaper route. Love photography and do a lot of videography too. Much prefer "natural images"...those caught by being in the right place at the right time.Have traveled a lot managing trade shows for a host of travel organizations which afforded a lot of great pic opportunities.
