The moon was crisp and cold, (and so was I) the sky was clear, it was a beautiful frigid morning at -58 F (-50 C).

Take care of your equipment, too! I can be harmed by prolonged cold.

Thanks for stopping by delver and Susan!

Not to worry delver, my camera shop (Fairbanks Fast Foto) assures me the only thing that will be harmed by the cold is... me! The battery will wear out more quickly, that's all.

Lots more people than me take lots of photos here in Alaska, and all the other far north climes, and I've never had a problem with cold/cameras. (just my fingers!) :)

About katy99780
katy99780 I've lived in Alaska since 1969. I really love this wild land. The extremes of the far north shape and affect every living thing. Extremes of weather, elevation, daylight hours, isolation, flora and fauna, nothing in Nature is insignificant.I have a Davis Vantage Pro weather station, uploading to Wunderground, (Turks on the Tundra) the National Weather Service, the Citizen Weather Observation Program and MADIS (Meteorological Assimilation Data Ingest System).
