We were still a mile away from the 'eye', but it must have been right over our heads when we reached home. We can't see much of the sky here, there are too many very large maples around us, but our neighbor lost two of those old maples that both fell on his house.

I lived through one tornado, although a 'little' one and ended being frightened of all storms, because of it.

Your "Eye of the Storm" in this series is a rare and absolutely marvelous picture. During a storm chase a few years ago, I found myself standing right under an eye like that. It was both fascinating and frightening to look directly up at a sunny blue hole in a heavily clouded sky and watch the grey wall slowly rotating over my head.

Thanks all for your responses and ratings!

The green clouds turned out to be the problem, not a tornado but very high winds and torrential rain causing backed up storm sewers.

That green color is not a good sign! Great shot, Doerthe.

Great storm series, Doerthe! We had a similar cloud pattern today, too, here at the coast.
