A better View from about 3 miles south of my house, and 200 feet higher elev. A few days ago that peak was white. I think the wind does a good sweeping job up there. That Peak is over 13,000 ft.

Nope, never been up there. Never had the time. I've been on some trails close by with Search & Rescue years ago, but now that I am retired, my knees would never allow for such walking.
Likely it was not this one you saw. There is only a couple places from Taos that you can see this mtn, and only a very short glimpse, and if you are not looking for it, you won't see it unless you know where to look at.
There are a lot more mountain tops almost as high and a lot more visible from Taos. And depends on what highway you were on.
This view is from the South side.. Only this little spot you can see it from. If you are on Highway 64 via Angel Fire and Eagle Nest, then you have a great and close view of it from the East side.
Sun and wind have changed the wintry look considerably !
