And how about me on waiting anxiously for the egg to hatch for weeks, James? :-) He indeed survived in the incubator and in the hands of this inexperienced turtle mom!

Gene, has this been what you have experienced in the encounters with your turtles? :-) Thanks for taking a look at my new baby!

Kathy, yes, a big red-letter day! Thanks for the conversation!

Julie, thanks for stopping again and asking how they are doing! I still have only one baby (the other eggs are driving me crazy) but she is doing great and is the cutest thing I have ever seen!

Oh, Kathy, you stopped by when I was uploading another shot. Seeing the egg hatch was a miracle of life happening in front of my eyes. My dog thought I was having a heart attack!

Belle, a couple of times I've had skink or anole (lizard) eggs to hatch in a terrarium. But I wasn't looking at the time.

Thank you all for joining me in my happiness!!!

Dorothy, thanks for coming back, you are the sweetest!

Kathy, I know you've seen it all and I still can't believe you haven't seen a turtle hatch. It is indeed a painted turtle, I guess I only remembered to write it when I saw her mother laying eggs. Thanks for your appreciated visit!

Julie, nice to meet you. I love "your new little family" and I do feel like a turtle mommy!

Chrissy, how lovely of you to stop by. I am too happy to not share!

How exciting, Belle! I've found the remains of turtle eggs in the garden, and seen young turtles, but never seen them actually hatch. Looks like a painted turtle. Thanks for the update!

About belletrouvaille

belletrouvaille

May 19, 2010: I carry my camera everywhere since I never know what I will encounter on my way. That is why I added "trouvaille" (good find) to my name. Didn't my dog find a good one to cuddle by? It had been a long sleep since I decided to post on WunderPhotos. (it still took me a month after I registered with it) This is more fun than Facebook! (though I have never had a Facebook account) Thank you for all your amazing photos that have inspired me day by day! Notes: 1. I don't edit my photos other than slight cropping, though I am aware of the old ways of changing results in the darkroom and admire what people can do nowadays on the computer. 2. With very few exceptions, I post photos in a series in chronological order from left to right and don't jump dates back and forth.
