The juxtaposition of the lightning and the tower in the foreground would be hairy enough. But to also have the perspective of the line of towers...

Quoting KQ4ET:
Upon first look it appears that the lightning is emanating from the transmission lines, which I know from being a lineman for 31 years, wouldn't work that way.

I had to look at the pic a couple times myself to make sure what I knew wasn't happening .... wasn't happening. I too worked in utilities, as a collecter first, then a serviceman. I'm now a self-employed electrician.

Curious tid-bit = "Collecter" is an archaic & obsolete title. We quit taking payments LONG ago, when too many hoodlums found out we were often carrying several hundred $$$'s in our truck. We just gave 24-hours to pay for bills under $150, or automatic disconnect for anything over that. Since we were pretty much already universally unpopular, we needed all the help we could get. So "collecter" sounds better than "disconnect guy". :) :)

Thanks guys!! KQ4ET, I was actually on my way home from shooting the storm and happened to look over as I was apparently passing the lines when a strike lit them up..I stopped and set up for it since it looked so cool to me. :)

Interesting. Upon first look it appears that the lightning is emanating from the transmission lines, which I know from being a lineman for 31 years, wouldn't work that way. In reality the transmission lines are in the foreground and the lightning is from the clouds in the background. Still very cool. I don't know how one goes about capturing a shot like that? Time lapse and right place, right time I suppose. Nice Job.
