that is a good question,I lived here for 15 years,and up in the forest even on a hill they grow more or less straight up.I think maybe they lean near the coast the get the most sun

That's a beautiful area with the green right down to the coast line...Do the trees grow at such an acute angle because of wind or do they always grow towards water????
