'SOME LIKE IT HOT!'

This IS the hotel used in the 1959 Smash Hit Movie starring Marilynn Monroe, Tony Curtis, and Jack Lemmon.

The reason I put the word IS in capitals, is because in the movie, they were suppose to be leaving cold, snowy Chicago for Florida...Not So! "But no body's Perfect".

What a History, What a Hotel, and What a Beautiful Photograph!

Interesting lighting conditions. The dark gray clouds provided a great back drop... the sun poking through the clouds behind my back really lighting up the hotel. I think my exposure was a bit long but I like the way it turned out.

Wow - this is a classic from the 'railroad era'. Seems that these destination hotels were always white with red roofs. Gorgeous image, doubly so with the reflection!

I don't think I've ever seen any building with a red roof like that, but I really like it. Makes for a gorgeous photo. Great shot!

About Westerberg

Westerberg

I got into photography while buying and selling cameras on eBay (user name: joewest2000). I enjoy test driving each camera that I sell and I've learned a lot from the old film SLRs. I had a lot of fun with my little Nikon Coolpix 2100 then a 3100... and finally... after seeing all the incredible shots on this site from digital SLRs I got a Nikon D80. After 4 years with the D80 I purchased a D3200. I also got a Coolpix P510 with an incredible 1000mm zoom. Amazing and fun camera, especially for the price. Lots of learning and practice and more practice.
