I thought this beach looked familiar. I just came back from my first trip to Hawaii(Kauai) and stayed at Islander on the beach. Beautiful.

Strange. I posted this photo back in December and it gets 3 comments today? ??? Do you guys know each other? :-) @Imperatrice, did you happen to stay at one of the Kreller's condos? They have about 8 at Islander on the Beach... I've stayed in their unites twice now for 3 weeks total and had a great time. Kapa'a is a great central location for visiting Kauai. Westerberg- all I can say is great minds think alike! For me, it's more wistful thoughts of my vacation from being so sun deprived here in Portland. I'll check your link. I booked through Vacation Rentals By Owner. The unit I had was about 20 steps to the beach and on the 3rd floor. I had a wonderful view from my lanai. I did like Kapa'a for that reason of being centrally located. From the news this week, I'm really glad I went when I did.

Yes... regarding the weather... I hiked the Kalalau Trail when I was there in December... lots of rain then... but nothing like what they're going through now. Last I heard over 50" on the North Coast in less than 2 weeks... but that's old info

Westerberg I got into photography while buying and selling cameras on eBay (user name: joewest2000). I enjoy test driving each camera that I sell and I've learned a lot from the old film SLRs. I had a lot of fun with my little Nikon Coolpix 2100 then a 3100... and finally... after seeing all the incredible shots on this site from digital SLRs I got a Nikon D80. After 4 years with the D80 I purchased a D3200. I also got a Coolpix P510 with an incredible 1000mm zoom. Amazing and fun camera, especially for the price. Lots of learning and practice and more practice.
