According to Wunderground: Dan River near Danville at 10:30 am Friday the stage was 17.5 feet and rising. Flood stage is 17.0 feet. At Danville... the river Rose above flood stage Friday morning. Danville is forecast to continue rising to a crest near 18.5 feet by late this afternoon. This crest compares to a previous crest of 18.5 feet on Sep 9 2004. If you are from the area and know about the arches under the building by the dam - The water is up to the top of the arches which means VERY high.
