During World War II station was bombed. Did not regain its former glory, despite post-war reconstruction and subsequent repairs. In 1989, the railway station modernization work began that lasted 14 years. The renovated station building was officially opened on 28 November 2003.
The building the railway station has been recognized as the most beautiful building in Poland!

Reminds me of the railway station building in Lwow. And in fact of that in St.Pete's, too - the Vitebsky Station. Nice shot. Too bad the sky was cloudy. Some (sunny) day you should shoot it with the blue sky in the background.
