From the thumbnail, I thought that rock in the background was a porpoise jumping in your wave. Nice work.

I wish it WERE a porpoise. Our local harbor porpoises, the only species we get on a regular basis, are not into surfing. I have spent hours watching the bottlenosed dolphins surf at Black's Beach in La Jolla, but never gotten any good photos. One of these years...

Thanks for the info. I see porpoises frequently when I vist our beaches here in the Southeast. Very hard to capture them on camera because you never know when/where they'll pop up.
