Thanks on the complements and haven't seen that same Squirrel again yet, and yes the deer still come by daily. I seen Memo and a set of adopted twins came in to feed about 20 minutes ago, Memo the deer I raised stopped by and visited with me for a while.

Speaking of which, I found a squirrel-tail t'other day in the backyard. Just the tail. No idea where's the rest of the squirrel, whether one of the idiot cats bit it off, or if a hawk got to the critter, or what.

When a hawk "got" a pigeon near where I work, it was yanking out clumps of feathers to "pluck" it, and well, there were "inedibles" like the feet just strewn around on the ground below the branch where he was snacking away.

Wouldn't surprise me if something *almost* got this critter, too, and like CA said, got part of his tail as a souvenir.

Something probably happened to that tail; it does look shorter than usual. Probably a narrow escape that left scars.
