Thank you, thank you for the photo. It is spectacular.

Today I plan to sit in front of my door from 10 to 11 am. That's the time that the shuttle is scheduled to fly over this area on the way to Dulles. If I see the shuttle fly by, I will be very happy.

I am so delighted, I did see the beautiful Discovery and the escort plane fly by! She has not landed yet, she is taking another fly-by around Dulles Airport. Memorable.

Thanks for sharing an historical time, however it is a national disgrace that we have nothing to replace it with other than the GSA Vegas trip....

Thanks everyone. It's been a sad day on the Space Coast. Feeling the finality. Locals that have been doing their jobs with no promise of the future are feeling nervous. There is chatter that the vehicle assembly building is slated to be torn down if it isn't put to use soon. It was built & used long before the shuttle & should continue. So many that are still around here put their life into all this, generations of hard work & knowledge. To not see it continued in some form is freaking people out.

Glad to see she brought her air of patriotism, pride & celebration with her to D.C...we are certainly missing it here.

I should have some photos from today uploaded later.

Thanks for the AC!

That's an amazing photo.. The plant where I work has made every window for every manned space flight since the first one, including this Discovery.
