A large shield has been installed at the ball field in Fort Jones to aid in keeping the sun off of the igloo. The father of one of the young men attempting to finish this giant structure was at the ball field this morning chunking up more snow and ice so it would be ready to form into more blocks. He said that there were approximately 700 block in place, and each weighs in at around 70 pounds. They have about 125-150 to go. You can see it is heading into the dome stage now.

They work hard to wet everything down every night. We are still getting down into the teens at night, so it have a chance to harden back up.  The dad says they are very sore! I bet!

It is amazing the amount of people stopping every day - they even have children taking field trips over to see this thing. lol

There is a lovely glow on the outer wall- it looks beautiful, but is certainly not something they want at this stage !
