Sometimes it pays to be bringing up the rear in our hiking group. I think I was the only one to see these deer standing down by the creek.

LOL - no, I didn't climb a tree. We were crossing a bridge, and I saw the doe below and couldn't figure out why she wasn't leaving, then I leaned over the railing and saw her baby. :) Our 'hike' was more of a long stroll down the road - no way to go out into the deep snow.
