What an aircraft! My sister worked as a robotics tool designer at Boeing's Everett plant all her working years and planes have always intrigued me too. This is quite the plane, with it's kneel-down front loading ramp system! I see it's 2nd only in size to it's sister, the Antonov AN 225, and has flown things like locomotives, yachts, aircraft fuselages and even a whale and an elephant!! Wow!! It must have really been a sight to see when you took this picture!!

Still the biggest bird in the air. I don't believe the 225 is flying anymore.

About RWMc

RWMc

I'm a contractor for NASA who spent 19 of 26 years in the California High Desert--nothing but blue sky averaging 330+ days a year. Then in January 2004 I was transferred to Virginia's Eastern Shore. My wife and I bought a home in Maryland and have enjoyed the area very much. It's nice to see some weather changes again--near 0°F in Jan and humidity and bugs in the summer have been an interesting change for us!My interest in photography goes back to a Minolta 35mm I bought in 1979. Update: Jan 2011, just purchased a Nikon D3100 and I'm looking forward to spending more time taking photos, and uploading them to WU.
