I parked at the parking lot at Mad River Beach at 8am. Two hours later it was flooded and I drove out in 2 ft of water with swimming voles and gophers. The river kept rising and flooding private land.

My friend had to tow the Subaru through the water because the engine took water, but my 4Runner barely made it.

Never been in a flood before. I didn't know it could rise so high. I'm from a much drier place. Apparently 20 inches of rain fell up river in the mountains. We only got 5 or 6 at the coast. There were still some cars in the parking lot when I left. There are a few houses right by the road that probably got a bit flooded after I left.
