Snow, sleet, rain, and warm temps turned the snow on the ground into a glacier as temps froze. Snow depth in my yard averages only an inch, but it is about 2" in the front 1/3, 1" in the back 1/3, and mostly bare in the middle 1/3. This core sample here, from just over an inch of depth...was 0.52"! Not to mention...all parking lots are filled with big snowbanks that are like rock solid ice burgs. Interesting for sure.
