Saturday March 9, 2013

Keyes, OK (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: The temps dropped from 65 to 41 degrees in fifteen minutes, as this cold front approached and then roared through. The 60mph winds, gusting to 70mph lasted 24 hours. It looked much more like our first Thunderstorm of the season, but couldn't make up it's mind and dropped an inch of snow and lows in the 20's.

Thanks VERY much, Corey, for your lovely remarks and visit! I greatly appreciate it. The plains are beautiful in their way aren't they? I too would miss getting to see the sometimes wild, ever changing weather and wide open sky, if we moved. Thanks again!

Wow! Interesting story here Linda. Thank you for sharing.
And Wow on your other photo where you mentioned about a 3000 gallon water tank blowing away. I bet it was not a very easy chore to retrieve it back to it's place. Had to really be an awful wind, and like you said long lasting too.
Hope all is back to normal there now.

Wow, very cool, Gil! So glad you noticed that, as I hadn't. There is an old Buffalo wallow on the land in the foreground and my late Dad-In-Law found many arrowheads here, as well as flint scrapers and stone grinding bowl. So your cloud symbolism is VERY neat and apt!

Thanks SO much for your great comments, Gil! I appreciate it deeply!

Wow! Another fantastic shot of that cloud. Noticed it resembles a Buffalo head & face complete with eye on center area.
Congratulations on this VIP!
