Afternoon at the Platte River

Caption: I spent the afternoon at the Louisville State Park on the Platte River. I was very sad that I couldn't stay for the spectacular sunset. This one I am laying on my stomach with the camera on a tripod, strech way out onto the thin ice.

I am pleased you got an AC for this - creative point of view, interesting subject and kudos for the effort!

Congratts on a "worked at" AC shot. 10 from an hour south of you.

Oh, wow! I was not expecting an AC for this one. I feel very grateful. It was a fun shot to take. It was the layers that struck me. And that little peek at the rushing river waters beneath the ice that added a little kick.

Great perspective and a little on the risky side, but well worth the extra effort.
congratulations on the Big Blue Larry!

About LarryD

I really enjoy this site. The wonderful photos I see here never cease to amaze, and inspire me. I look forward to reading the comments on my photos. I am inordinately pleased when I am awarded an Approvers Choice. I use Nikon equipment and am especially fond of macro photography. I continue to be astounded by the beauty in the miniature world visible though my lens. Additionally, I rarely have to venture very far to find interesting subjects. The Henry Doorly zoo is my favorite location. If you get to Omaha Nebraska. I highly recommend you spend some time at the zoo with your camera. Larry
