My name is Larry and when I retired I added photography as a hobby to my "pre-existing conditions" of gardening, fishing and fly tying. Most of my amateur photo work has centered around our gardens at our modest wooded property we call, Journey's End. Perfect subject for B&W.
Tonal range just includes all the tones from black to white, Betsy. Ideally, you want to try to have the greatest variety of tones in a B&W image.

I'm not a fan of B&W, but this is an exception, even for me!
