Your photo gives me a feeling of melancholy...the lone person on the narrow street, walking with shoulders drooped and surrounded by the tall, unemotional, concrete buildings. Thought provoking as Peg said. A terrific capture, Bernard!

My thought when I took the picture was one of loneliness which is certainly magnified by the time of the year, but I hope the lady was not lonely but had just come from a visit with some friends. City streets can also cause loneliness, but the buildings in the old town in Europe give me a feeling of permanence.

WOW...I really, really love this! The colors of the buildings contrast with the lone dark figure! Many thought provoking questions could be sparked by this image! In my book this is a WINNER~!~! Hope it gets an AC!

About Hotzenwaelder
Hotzenwaelder Although born, reared, and educated in the United States, I have been living in Europe for well over half of my life – primarily in Germany, and the pictures I submit are for the most part from the southern slopes of the Black Forest in the Rhine Valley between Germany and Switzerland. I have learned a great deal about photography from all the excellent posters on this site, and I am very thankful to everyone from all over the world for the help.
