Kalamata, Greece

Caption: Zanata Castle near Kampos in the Mani peninsula in the extreme south of the Greek Peloponnesus was designed to protect the owners and their families from outsiders. I suspect that we shall be needing again if the EU don't get around to being a little less predatory toward the Greeks. That is: unless some foreigner has already bought it!

Just found this in World View, Alan---how breathtakingly beautiful!! Yes, the economy is really frightful there, isn't it? Rough situation for a country to be in. But it's landscapes are still gorgeous---keep posting them for us all to enjoy! :-)

About Granddad

Granddad

We are English, (except our dogs, who are definitely very Greek, having been abandoned strays who took us in out of the kindness of their hearts). We retired to Greece in 2003 to escape the phoney political correctness endemic throughout the Anglo-Saxon world and to mix with some real people again. We live in the Exo-Mani in the extreme South of the Peloponnesus, where the sea and countryside are beautiful and the weather is also less political (i.e. they don't tax sunshine yet). The site provides an opportunity for us to bore the whole world with our snapshots and for which we are duly grateful.
