We're safe here. As Silver has indicated:

There are about 5 different complexes going. They are all 19 to 40 miles away.

Silver

Thanks for looking in and leaving a note.

Thank you Silver.

We'll hope things turn around today, but
it doesn't look too good right now.

Short update of the fire information as of midnight sunday/monday: The Douglas complex is now up to about 14,000 acres and the other smaller fires around the county total about another 2300 acres. Smoke this evening is about the same as yesterday after clearing for a while this morning.

Well, if this don't beat all. I've done it
again, but I'm not changing it. I just noticed
when posting my hummingbird shot that the smoke
shots are dated for the 28th....WRONG.

It was apparently past midnight (GMT) when
I posted these three smoke shots last night.
They SHOULD have been posted for the 27th July.

My apologies to all for my blunder.

Thank you very much, Dave.

We are not in any danger unless the
fire is fanned by the currents winds
and jumps the mountains around us. Not
too likely to happen.

Thanks for your kind thoughts.

Update: This fire complex is now up to 10,000 acres (as of 8:30a Sunday 7/28) and is approaching a fire burning near Wolf Creek. Another fire is just a few miles away at Sunny Valley (two locations in north Josephine county). In addition another fire is developing in the remnants of the 500,000 acre fire at Selma in 2002(southwest Josephine county). It is expanding rapidly, but no estimate of size is currently available. I'll (or Doesie) update this as the day goes on.
