Naw, I've been a *convert* to RX since about the early '90s. No financial stake in it, no stock in the company (not even sure *which* company... Rain-X Inc??), nothing. It just works awesomely, and I know someone who's a "storm chaser" who similarly swears by it.

Seriously, just try a little bottle, or borrow some from someone who uses it, and if you're as impressed as I was, go for the Costco-size jug. (No, no financial stake in them, either.)

Hint: *SCRUB* the windshield clean, and with a *real* glass cleaner (Miller-Stephenson, etc.), not Windex, 'til a dry paper towel "grabs" across the surface, then apply it once, give it a 2nd coat, then let it sit overnight. Dunno if that sitting makes a diff, but it's what I do.

Seriously, if you go chasing storms on any regular basis, you'll appreciate it immensely.

Dood, seriously, use Rain-X. You'll never even *need* to use your wipers ever again, as long as you're moving, or have decent gusts of wind to blow off the raindrops.

We just got a decent amount of rain in NYC today, and it just beads up like little balls of Hg and just rolls right *up* the windshield from oncoming air.

At a standstill, just occasionally bap the [mist] button to swat whatever rain builds up.

Do it right, and each application will last 6mos or more, at least it does for me. Crystal clear windshield, no distortion from where the wipers have yet to get to between wipes, etc. *Much* clearer vision, especially the harder it rains. In a drenching downpour when even with your wipers on high, you might have issues seeing out the windshield, as evidenced above in the section to the right of the wiper, what collected in the whopping ~1sec per wipe. With Rain-X, it remains clear *throughout*, just the "spray" of water-beads going flying off the windshield at a constant rate.

I swear by the stuff...

Oh, and for best vision, it's Rain-X. Not wipers, not Rain-X and wipers, *just* Rain-X. Trust me on this. I love driving in the rain, and this stuff's a godsend...
